Summary

Muddy conditions during the rainy season caused severe productivity issues for a general contractor in Louisiana. United Rentals' Timberlite mats, though, stabilized the ground, reduced costs, and enhanced site safety. The success of this solution not only kept the project on track but also converted the contractor into a loyal advocate for matting solutions on future projects.

Challenge

The general contractor working on a 30,000-square-foot commercial building in southern Louisiana faced significant productivity issues due to excessive mud and soggy ground conditions caused by rain, which nearly halted work and delayed the project schedule.

Impact

Timberlite mats prevented 47 days of mud-related downtime within the first five months, significantly reducing labor costs, maintaining the project schedule, and eliminating the need for costly site remediation after rainstorms.
